Wexford, 18th July 2016 – Datapac is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the the Excellence in Community category in the Chambers Ireland 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards. The company received this nomination for its work in transforming technology services for Barretstown.

Now in their 13th year, the awards recognise and celebrate the important contribution that CSR practices make to Irish economy and society. When it came to shortlisting applicants for the Excellence in Community category, the expert panel of judges looked at various factors, including the type of work done by the organisations, and the benefits and impact for their partner charity.

Datapac takes pride in supporting local charities and it was delighted to be chosen as the technology advisor and partner for Barretstown. The provider was tasked with a complete upgrade of the charity’s ICT infrastructure, including existing networks, servers, business continuity systems, PCs, laptops and the introduction of a high-speed broadband service for the first time.

Datapac also redesigned the campus network, including the onsite medical facility, activity rooms, accommodation units and the administration centre. Using upgraded hardware, staff members can now get instant access to their applications and data from any location across the campus, resulting in improved productivity and better ways of working.

This transformative ICT solution impressed judges of the Chambers Ireland CSR Awards enough to convince them to shortlist Datapac for the Excellence in Community category, alongside some other high profile contestants.

The CSR Awards were established to recognise the work being carried out by Irish and multinational companies to improve the lives of their employees and to enhance the civic environment in which they operate. The Awards ceremony will take place on 1st September in the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dublin 4.
