Wexford Business Awards Will Celebrate Entrepreneurial Achievements

WEXFORD BUSINESS AWARDS WILL CELEBRATE ENTREPRENEURIAL ACHIEVEMENTS

The eighth annual Wexford Business Awards will recognise the entrepreneurialism, innovation, diversity and talent of the local business community.  At next Friday’s Gala Awards Ceremony, Wexford Chamber of Commerce will honour the industry leaders that have demonstrated innovative business processes, product development, enterprise, sustainability and overall business success.

This year, over 80 organisations from across the county have engaged with the Wexford Business Awards’ application and selection processes and the winners and runners-up in each category will be revealed in front of an audience of over 500 people.

Businesses shortlisted this year range from start-ups to family businesses and established companies, operating in such diverse industries as retail, manufacturing, education, tourism, technology and professional services.

Speaking about the upcoming event, CEO of Wexford Chamber of Commerce, Madeleine Quirke said “I think that it is important that we showcase our most exceptional businesses, share knowledge and foster the creation of even stronger links within the local business community and the Wexford Business Awards do just that”.

With 17 categories, as well as the Wexford Ambassador and President’s awards, an expansive spectrum of sectors will be honoured on the night.  The awards, which will be held in Clayton Whites Hotel, will culminate with the announcement of the coveted Overall Business of the Year Award (which will be chosen from one of the 17 category winners).

The Wexford Business Awards have become a highlight for many businesses right across the county as it provides everyone with an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate their accomplishments over the last 12 months and in a real coup for this year’s event, renowned and well respected broadcaster, Mr. Pat Kenny, will preside over the evening’s proceedings.

The President of Wexford Chamber of Commerce, Karl Fitzpatrick, acknowledged how the number of applicants reflects the thriving business climate in the county.  “We received a record number of applications for this year’s Business Awards and I think this is indicative of the commercial resurgence which companies are experiencing throughout the county”. “The Gala Awards Ceremony on Friday night will celebrate this success and will provide the optimum platform for highlighting all that is good about doing business in Wexford”, added Mr. Fitzpatrick.
