Why does a Chamber run an event like this? In order to bring Wexford Style 2017 to the catwalk, Wexford Chamber has done business with over 50 individual businesses, most of whom are here in our own county. Add to that our 600 guests, many of you have your own businesses or are working within a business. There is not a hairdresser, a boutique, a beautician, a hotel, restaurant or bar in town that has not benefited directly from Wexford Style 2017. “It is so important that we recognise the retail trade and the sizeable contribution it makes to the local economy” added Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber.
“To our sponsors a special thank you to Joyces Expert Wexford supported by Dyson, to Westgate Design for the delicious bubbles and to our car partner Donohoe Skoda Enniscorthy. To Tom Enright, Chief Executive in Wexford County Council a heartfelt thank you for allowing us the use of this magnificent building.” The street in the Council building underwent an unbelievable make-over and was transformed into one of the finest catwalks in the county. Attendees’ jaws dropped when arriving in the iconic Wexford County Hall as they witnessed the creativity of Ingrid Kehoe of Slaney Flowers’ masterful flower arrangements.
To all of the participating boutiques, your fashion statement is what makes Wexford a centre of excellence in terms of style. An amazing shopping experience awaits visitors to County Wexford and we are so proud of your success in the retail trade.
Without a vision, and without support for that vision, this event would not have happened. Now in its 6th year, the show just gets better and better. The person with the vision is Keith Jordan of Westgate Design and the person who provides all the support is Tracey Morgan who is Events Manager with Wexford Chamber, together with administrator Denise Farrell. Couple this with the amazing talents of Ingrid Kehoe of Slaney Flowers and you have one of the most successful fashion shows in the country.
Thanks once again to our creative teams for hair and make up; Brian and his team from Alan Keville for Hair, Noel and Nano from The Cutthroat Barber Services, as well as Fiona and the team from Gainfort Academy.
Last but not least, a sincere thank you to John Cullen, Stephen Whelan and all the team in Wexford County Council for all their help and support in planning this event. We are privileged to be able to showcase our County’s boutiques in such an iconic building.
