Bunclody Business Launched To Great Success

A new website to promote business in Bunclody and district was officially launched at an event in the River’s Edge, Bunclody, attended by local business owners and members of the public.

The aim of Bunclody Business (www.BunclodyBusiness.com) is to showcase the business community in Bunclody, promote the town as a great place to live and do business, and help local business owners to stay connected and up to date on what’s happening in the town.

Councillor Barbara-Anne Murphy acted as MC for the night. Tom Enright, Chief Executive of Wexford County Council, who officially launched the website, said: “Bunclody Business is a great example of people coming together to promote their town and at Wexford County Council we’re always happy to support communities that are active in trying to help themselves. I would like to commend the Bunclody Business team on the new website and the great work they are doing to help their local business community.”

Mr Enright said that County Wexford was undergoing significant change at present with close to €1 billion of investment in public infrastructure projects being delivered across the county. He added that the recent opening of the new Enniscorthy motorway bypass provides real opportunities to develop enterprise and economic activity in this part of the county and that the futures of Enniscorthy and Bunclody were closely linked together.

“With access to two motorways within 15 minutes, Bunclody is a well-connected town and has much to offer businesses in terms of its attractive setting, with particular opportunities to develop tourism into the future,” said Mr Enright.

Other speakers on the night included Caroline Tully and Helen Conway of Blackstairs Web Design, Caroline Kidd of Star Content, and Jean O’Connell of O’Connell Marketing. Business owners received a demonstration of the new website and were able to sign up on the night to get a free online listing for their business. The speakers also gave those assembled advice for getting online, writing content for websites, marketing their business and planning for 2020.

Bunclody Business has been set up by local business owners for local business owners under the auspices of Enniscorthy & District Chamber of Commerce and is supported by local Councillor Barbara-Anne Murphy and Enniscorthy Municipal District Council.

Speaking about the launch of the new website, Councillor Barbara-Anne Murphy said: “This website gives the approximate 400 businesses in the Bunclody area an opportunity to have an online presence and digital platform so that customers and potential clients can find them in a simple web search.

I want to sincerely thank Caroline Tully and Helen Conway from Blackstairs Web Design who created the website; Caroline Kidd, Star Content who wrote the content for it; and Jean O’Connell, O’Connell Marketing. They volunteered their professional services to help improve business in the Bunclody area. I also want to thank Maree Lyng, President

Enniscorthy and District Chamber of Commerce, and Ger Mackey, Manager Enniscorthy Municipal District, for their commitment to the project.

We have businesses from sole traders to large companies featured on the website and I urge all business owners and managers in the area to log on to www.BunclodyBusiness.com and get their business details on this wonderful website.”
