  1. Water Connection Charging Policy Consultation

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities is conducting a consultation on Irish Water’s proposed Connection Charging Policy. This new charging policy will impact upon any business wishing to connect to the public water and / or wastewater network. The current regime of charging customers for connections will change and this consultation includes proposals by Irish Water on a new charging mechanism. The level of service customers can expect from Irish Water relating to their new connection will also change from that which is currently available.

The CRU is seeking the views of the public on Irish Water’s proposals. Responses to this consultation paper can be emailed to the Water Division at waterconnections@cru.ie before 23rd March 2018.

  1. LGiU Briefing Series on Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards Winners

The Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) has begun publishing a series of briefings looking at the winners of the Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Governance Awards from 2017. The LGiU will showcase each of the best in practice projects that won at our Awards in 2017 over the coming weeks.

  1. AIB Women in Enterprise Masterclass

AIB are holding their fourth Women in Enterprise Masterclass taking place on Wednesday, 14th of March at the Midlands Hotel, Portlaoise, County Laois.

The Masterclass is open to all Women who are business owners/managers and attendance is free of charge.

This afternoon will focus on Leadership skills through three different Masterclasses;

  • leading yourself
  • leading your team
  • leading your business

The participants at the Masterclass also have an opportunity to partake in a Gala evening and win over 10,000 worth of prizes.

The afternoon is followed by a networking session, wine and canapés included.

  1. Employer Disability Information – ‘WorkABLE Future 2018’ Event

Employer Disability Information, in partnership with Hays recruitment will hold the ‘WorkABLE Future 2018’ event in Croke Park, Dublin on Tuesday 27th of March, 10am to 1pm.

The event will bring together Ireland’s leading Disability & Inclusion professionals and educate attendees on how diversity can benefit organisations and what supports are available to engage with the talent pool of individuals with disabilities.

  1. InterTradeIreland Breakfast Briefings & Go2Tender

InterTradeIreland, in partnership with the Office of Government Procurement, Ibec, SFA, ISME, CIF and Chambers Ireland are delivering a series of breakfast workshops to educate and engage businesses on the island around public procurement, a market worth in the region of €12 billion per annum.

The next Breakfast Briefing is taking place on Wednesday, 11 April 2018 at Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone and is now available to register for by following this link.
