  • Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs

Please find attached a fact-sheet on the COSME programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. The aim of this call is to expand and strengthen the existing network of Intermediary Organisations (IOs) which act as local contact points for newly and experienced entrepreneurs in the participating countries. IOs will be selected to implement the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme at local level for the period February 2018-January 2020. They will, in particular, recruit and assist the entrepreneurs who will benefit from the programme. This call will therefore support actions for organisations enhancing and facilitating the mobility of entrepreneurs.

Note that interested entities must apply as part of a consortium of at least 5 partners from min. 4 different participating countries (COSME countries). Consortia must match min. 100 entrepreneurs and the maximum funding that they can apply for in this call is €500,000 (max. of total eligible costs; including up to 75% of programme management costs and up to 100% of budget reserved for new entrepreneurs).

  • Excellence in Local Government Awards 2017 – Applications open until May 18th

Applications are now open for the Excellence in Local Government Awards 2017 and the deadline has been extended until 12 noon, Thursday 18th May.

Local Authorities in Ireland are encouraged to enter the awards to showcase the best practice work taking place at a local level across Ireland. There are sixteen categories in the ELG Awards which highlight the range of dedication and hard work that is ongoing within local government.   • Graphite HRM Mid-Year Review

Graphite HRM will be presenting a mid-year review update on the 31st of May 2017 from 10:00am to 4:30pm, providing you with the latest employment law and HR updates. This event will be taking place in The Fitzwilliam Hotel, Dublin 2.

This mid-year review will be beneficial not only for HR practitioners, but also for anyone with management responsibilities. Together with our expert speakers, we will discuss the most prominent areas affecting the HR industry.

Speakers at the mid-year review include:

  • Orlaith Carmody, Managing Director, Gavin Duffy & Associates, and Author of “Perform as a Leader”  will discuss the very topical area of Women in Leadership.
  • Martin Rogan, Chief Executive Officer, Mental Health Ireland will discuss promoting positive mental health in the workplace and how to support an employee managing an ongoing mental health issue.
  • Lorraine Smyth, Partner, Byrne Wallace, will provide an informative legislative update, referencing relevant recent case law.
  • Ross Flanagan, Communications Officer, GLEN, will look at Workplace Diversity and how best to support LGBTI employees in the workplace.

  • IOM – Skills2Work Project Seeking Employer Engagement

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Ireland are compiling employer feedback as part of the Skills2Work project. Skills2Work is a transnational integration project funded by the EU and involves 9 IOM missions including Ireland. The idea of the project is to identify policies and practises in the EU that encourage and facilitate labour market integration of refugees.

IOM are seeking to speak to employers for feedback on :

  1. Perspectives at local, national and EU level about existing mechanisms, best practice and challenges in employing beneficiaries of international protection and migrants;
  2. Identification of skills gaps and desired candidate profiles;
  3. Provide input and advice regarding the web platform tools;
  4. Contribution, use and dissemination of project results.
