Employment Growth reflects need to reallocate funding to Up-Skilling

Wexford Chamber welcomes the recent CSO figures denoting continued employment growth of 2.2% in the Irish economy in the third quarter of 2017.

“These figures are a further positive sign and with unemployment decreasing, it is crucial that we all continue to build on the economic recovery and that the Government reallocates some of the funding currently vested in job creation schemes towards adult education and up-skilling within the workplace. The ability of our workforce to take on the new challenges that Brexit will bring necessitates training staff in exploring new export markets and engaging with additional administrative procedures” commented Niall Reck, President of Wexford Chamber.
