Listen to Calodagh’s interview on East coast FM, 12th June 2017:

Stress is the epidemic of the 21st century with nearly half-a-million people in Ireland now on anti-depressants and 60 per cent of the population either obese or overweight.

And the stress factor is hurting business, in particular, where some companies are not taking full advantage of the upturn as staff do not perform at their best because they are letting the pressure get to them.

A major event taking place next month will aim to provide solutions to our stress-filled lives.  Rejuvenate Ireland Wellbeing Conference – taking place in the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford on 21st June – will hear speakers ranging from former rugby international Gordon D’Arcy and Her Excellency Mrs Vijay Thakur Singh, the Indian Ambassador, to motivational speaker Steve Black and sports personalities, Tracy Piggot and Liam Griffin.

Rejuvenate Ireland, which coincides with the third UN International Day of Yoga – will present a dynamic group of experts sharing their experience and wisdom of how we can convert our challenges to strengths and make the most of ourselves and the opportunities we face as individuals, organisations and a society so we can enjoy sustained success.

“Only 32 per cent of people are meeting the basic physical exercise recommendations while there is an increase in mental health problems and suicide is devastating families and communities,” said organiser, Calodagh McCumiskey, who added: “This calls for a serious commitment to putting wellbeing at the heart of every business and organisation in Ireland. If we want to be well and do well consistently, we must put wellbeing at the heart of what we do.”

Rejuvenate Ireland 2017 will also incorporate Yoga For All which will bring together over 300 participants to experience the amazing benefits of yoga.   The Wellbeing Conference will bring together leaders from business and society, including Sean Gallagher, entrepreneur, speaker and business writer, Steve Black, motivational speaker; Her Excellency Mrs Vijay Thakur Singh, Indian Ambassador to Ireland;  Terry Prone, Chairperson of the Communications Clinic;  Gordon D’Arcy, investment manager with Investec and former international rugby player; Tracy Piggott, Sports Broadcaster; Colin Regan, GAA Community & Health Manager; Liam Griffin, Chair of Griffin Group and former All-Ireland winning Wexford hurling manager;  Madeline Quirke, CEO of Wexford Chamber and Calodagh McCumiskey, Founder of Rejuvenate Ireland and Spiritual Earth.

Both events take place on Wednesday, 21st June, in the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford. Yoga For All is a morning event from 9:30am- 12:00pm, cost €10 per person, including a light lunch. (Buy 10 tickets you pay for 9).
