Old Fashioned Sweets and Treats for Wexford Town

Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe, a family run sweet shop, opened its doors recently on Wexford town’s North Main Street.

The confectionary store is a well established franchise with over 80 stores in the United Kingdom and five stores in Ireland with locations in Waterford, Dungarvan, Cork, Limerick and now Wexford town. Kilkenny will open within the next few weeks.

Entering the shop is like stepping back in time with colourful displays of chocolate, pick n’ mix selections and glass jars with hard boiled sweets all weighed out on a scales.

Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe owner Betty Furlong says, “The concept is based on good old fashioned friendly service with a smile along with a large range of quality sweets and chocolate products. Quality is paramount a lot of the Mr Simms range of sweets are made in the old fashioned way using open copper pans to produce the best possible flavour.

I am delighted to open a business in Wexford where I have spent all my life. It’s great to be able to offer some employment however small. Quality sweets are an affordable luxury and let’s face it we all need a little treat now and then!”, added Betty.

Stocking a wide range of old fashioned sweets including bulls eyes, pear drops, clove drops and bon bons Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe has a tasty choice for any palette.

The store has plans to provide party and wedding favours along with ‘candy buffet’ for those special occasions.
