Wexford Fringe 2017 19th October – 5th November

Wexford Fringe is an annual open-access arts festival which will run in parallel to Wexford Opera Festival from Thursday, 19th October to Sunday, 5th November 2017.   Now in its 65th year, Wexford Fringe offers an eclectic mix of over 300 events over 17 days including cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, and visual art, many of which are free to attend.

What differentiates Wexford Fringe from many other Fringe Festivals is that alongside the ticketed open access programme are the Fringe produced and/or supported special free events, which run throughout the programme. These events add to the carnival atmosphere that engulfs the town and includes the Wexford Festival Opera and Wexford Speigeltent Festival.

For independent artists, Wexford Fringe is an inspirational environment to showcase their work. For audiences, it’s an opportunity to see exciting and entertaining contemporary work in an atmosphere that encourages taking a chance and seeing and discovering something new.

The Wexford Fringe Guide 2017, which is co-ordinated by Wexford Chamber each year, will be released at a special launch night on Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 6pm in Green Acres, Selskar Co. Wexford.  To register to attend, please email katieoconnor@wexfordchamber.ie or phone 053 912222.

Some festival tickets and information will be available from the Wexford Fringe Festival Hub, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford. Contact www.wexfordartscentre.ie or 00 353 539123764. Tickets will also be available from various venues across town.

The fringe programme includes, but is not limited to, a variety of art forms including cabaret, children’s events, comedy, circus & physical theatre, dance, film, theatre, music, visual art and design.
